Welcome to the EAJS2026 conference - here is what, where and howDear EAJS2026 conference delegate, With a few days till the start of the conference, this email aims to help you reach the university reception desk, and navigate the conference week. Arrival - where to go and when?If you arrive on Thursday 27 August, we are running an early registration desk from 11:00 - 16:00 at the Collegium Minus (Henryka Wieniawskiego 1, 60-702) foyer. So if you plan to attend the Opening and keynote at 16:00, come a little earlier to get your badge and admire the historic Collegium Minus venue. If arriving on Friday, the conference office and registration desk are located in Adam Mickiewicz University Faculty of Law complex Iuridicum Novum (Al. Niepodległości 53, 61-714) and remain there for the rest of the conference. When travelling in Poznan, trams are on a tap-in system with debit/credit cards (no need to tap-out). You'll need to find the ticket terminal in the tram - not the smaller orange ones by the doors, but larger smart screens with lots of timed options to select, and then tap your card. Paper tickets can be also bought at the airport, if cards are not convenient for you, or by a ticket online via https://jakdojade.pl/poznan We recommend not to leave checking in at the conference registration desk to the last minute as before the panel there might be a line of people trying to check in and it might take a moment to get your badge. What to bring?Bring a USB or another portable device to transfer your presentation files on the day. You cannot use your own laptop to present! Weather: By current predictions the heatwave should have broken during the conference week and there will be days when it might rain. Make sure to bring some waterproof clothes/umbrella but do not overdress, as overall the temperatures are still expected to be mostly warm in the low to mid 20 C. Cash: Most cards are accepted in most places; however, having some złoty to hand is recommended. Formal clothing: the final Grill party will be on Saturday next to the conference venue. No formal dress is required, although any expression of free spirit, elegance and panache are encouraged. Adapter: Those not from the EU should bring an adaptor for the EU standard electrical sockets (two-pole, round-pin domestic).
Remember to bring chargers for all your various devices (and perhaps a battery bank), as you’ll need this to navigate the online programme - we will also have a compact version of the programme printed but the most up to date and detailed information will be online only. Panels, meetings and plenary eventsPlease use the EAJS2026 timetable page to navigate the conference content. As the conference is hybrid and everything happens simultanously also in Zoom, presenters and convenors cannot use their own laptops for presenting - all files must be transferred onto the room’s PC. The conference main venue where you will find the registration desk, panels, labs and roundtables will be at Adam Mickiewicz University Faculty of Law complex also known as Collegium Iuridicum Novum (located at Al. Niepodległości 53, 61-714). Only for the opening we are at the Collegium Minus, one of Poznań’s most iconic academic buildings in the historic centre – an occasion to enjoy the old city’s heritage and vibe. Collegium Minus is about 20 min walk or 2-3 bus stops away from the Iuridicum Novum. For an overview of all the conference locations please consult the conference map. WiFiEduroam is available for those from European institutions, and you can access it the usual way. For those without European Eduroam, the University will be providing free eduroam accounts to all delegates throughout the conference. Everyone will receive an email from the venue IT department. The email will contain personalised login credentials and must not be shared with others. To use the credentials, please connect to the "eduroam" wireless connection found on campus. You will receive a login request to your device. The access will expire after the conference. >> If you wish you can also download a PDF format of the conference programme, but the most up to date programme is still online. Online access to panelsNo links will be sent out to participants. The buttons to enter panels for virtual particpation are within the timetable and/or panel pages and are visible only to logged-in, paid-up delegates. So one must log in to see and click on the entry links. Panel Zooms will be displayed beneath the panels' date/time as a button saying “Enter the virtual room” - click to enter the Zoom. If you are attending the conference virtually, please click on the Online Guide link below to read in more detail how it all works. EAJS2026 Reception desk and conference office (NomadIT) opening hoursThe Reception desk will be located on the ground floor of the Adam Mickiewicz University Faculty of Law complex also known as Collegium Iuridicum Novum (located at Al. Seeing the cityVisit Poznań has produced a page especially for the conference to help those interested in exploring different sites. For information on how to get around in Poznań, we have a page laying out all the travel options in the city as well as options on how to get to the city. Those presentingPlease have any files you wish to present on your portable device (like a USB), and bring to your panel room 15 minutes before the session, to upload and check. There will be a student volunteer team member present to assist, helpful Nomads hovering over them - all will be well. Those of you wanting to present from Macs must bring those special adaptors! For further info and final checks have a look at the presenter guidelines. Those convening/chairingPlease be a little early for the start of your panel as your colleagues will want to upload their presentations. Each room has a computer with a camera and a microphone, connected to a projector and speakers. In larger rooms there may be additional microphones (lapel or ceiling). Only the desktop computers can be used by presenters and convenors to run presentations - not personal laptops. The volunteer will start the session’s Zoom on the desktop. All f2f presenters using a PowerPoint, etc. should share screen within Zoom so online delegates can see. Strict time-keeping is crucial to a good conference, and is one of your responsibilities - please ensure each presenter gets their fair share of the time, and do not overrun into the breaks. For overall convenor guidelines Timing of papers/sessions Each panel/workshop session slot will be 90 minutes long, accommodating a maximum of 4 presenters. Convenors should allot each presenter a maximum of 15+5 mins for panels of five papers. However if the panel has less than 4 presentations, more time might be allocated for presentations or Q&A. Please keep your panel authors informed how you wish to organise the panel. Dedicated spaces at the conferenceThe conference has dedicated spaces for peace and quiet, working, for child and parent and for praying, please use the right space for your needs:
CateringThe conference is fully catered, with tea/coffee refreshment breaks between panels, and a lunch break. Catering is vegetarian with vegan, gluten free, and lactose free options. Follow the signage at the serving stations. We have taken account of different dietary requirements so all food should be accessible and non-allergy inducing. Those delegates with more complex needs will be contacted directly and special dishes ordered. Lunch is located just next to the main venue in a large tent. Tea/coffee refreshment breaks are located in the foyer space inside the Iuridicum Novum and also on different floors.
